Fans that visited DAYTONA USA literally flipped for the attraction's new simulator ride "Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road."
DAYTONA USA and Toyota officials unveiled "Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road," a two-seat full-motion simulator that depicts a fantasy ride around Daytona International Speedway.
Included in the thrill ride is a full 360-degree flip.
"I thought it was pretty cool how you could do the flip," said 16-year-old Steven Burtner. "You actually go upside down. A lot of simulators stop half way up and pretend you did the flip. This one actually does it."
Toyota's National Motorsports Merchandising Manager Greg Gollands and International Speedway Corporation President Lesa Kennedy had the honor of taking the simulator for its first spin during Wednesday's unveiling before ISC, DIS and Toyota executives.
Whether driving or just riding as a passenger, "Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road" is packed with thrills. Kathy Cowen let her husband Mike do the driving.
"It was fun, very exciting," said Cowen as she exited the ride.
Designed by the MaxFlight Corporation, "Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road" is located next to the Ford Motorcraft Pit Stop Competition inside the official motorsports attraction of NASCAR. "Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road" is the newest simulator in DAYTONA USA, joining ACCELERATION ALLEY and DAYTONA DREAM LAPS.
"Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road" is free with paid admission to DAYTONA USA. The official motorsports attraction is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and holds extended hours during race events. Call +1 (386) 947-6800 for more information or visit www.daytonausa.com.
