Version 1.04.003, Released 6 November 1999

Network messages can now be restricted to a single site (see Address Settings) to isolate interaction of kiosks with VR2002's on the same physical network. For each group set the site number on VR2002 and VR2002K systems to the same number and select "Site" in the Communications Group listbox. Systems set to a different site on the same physical network will not interact during operation (ride selections will not appear from kiosks outside the site designation).

Added hide pointer option to kiosk settings to allow mouse pointer to be hidden when operating with a touch screen monitor instead of a mouse or touch pad.

Version 1.04.002, Released 14 July 1999

Added escape password field to kiosk settings to allow site-configurable escape password from kiosk screen.

Version 1.04.000, Released 13 April 1999

Changed methodology of determining system software serial number from registry information to accommodate a root product type rather than looking under the specific product because serial numbers are stored in the registry for the root product to allow supplemental products to pick up preexisting serial number information. This change is to accommodate the VR2002K Roller Coaster Kiosk which also accepts VR2002 Roller Coaster add-ons such as track segments. Property Manager was not previously receiving serial number information from the Kiosk unit because it was looking in the wrong place.

Fixed an error setting the Kiosk randomize segment display property. A coding error caused the setting to overwrite the Allow 9 segment track property instead. In the interim, the problem can be worked around by editing the system registry version of the properties.

Revised graphics for buttons to switch between pages of track segments to make their function clearer to the user.

Added multiple language support for the user interface on the kiosk. This is optional and can be selectively turned on in Kiosk Settings (default is off). This allows multiple selectable language options to be presented to the user. The elements unique to each language are incorporated in separate resource DLL files and a toolkit is available for customization of this set of files for a particular language. Track segment definitions correspond on a language specific basis as well and can be customized.

Disallowed nicknames can be specified on a per-language basis as well as globally across all language definitions.

Version 1.03.003, Released 14 December 1998

Enhanced remote information server support to provide company name, serial number, and machine ID information.

Fixed an error in the IO server which would result in the program terminating without an error message after 4 connections from Property Manager.

Added system date confidence check to startup.

Added standard drivers and utilities to CD.

Version 1.03.002, Internal Build 9 December 1998

Added a configurable option in Kiosk Settings to randomize the display of track segments on the kiosk screen rather than have them always appear in the same order. If the setting has not been explicitly made, the default is to randomize track segments.

Remote information server was updated to provide support for retransmitting information across routed networks. This facilitates the usage of tools such as Property Manager from a remote location.

Version 1.03.001, Released 7 November 1998

New Version built to include changes made in shared code. No functional difference with prior Version.

Version 1.03.000, Released 5 November 1998

Added command-line options -debug and -nodebug to enable or disable debugging during program initialization.

Added a timeout option to Kiosk Settings that causes the kiosk to return to the opening display after a period of time elapses without any activity on the kiosk.

Added an acknowledgement screen to the end of the track selection sequence to inform the customer their ride has is ready to be taken on a VR2002 unit.

Revised graphic elements to improve appearance.

Version 1.02.001, Released 31 August 1998

An option to display the current program version information was added to the main menu (Help/About...).

Enter "0 TERMIN8" (zero, space, T, E, R, M, I, N, 8) as a nickname and press the BACK button to terminate the program and expose the Windows NT desktop to shut down or perform maintenance/upgrades.

Fixed an error that resulted in the kiosk program not completely closing when first shut down with Control/Stop, then closed.

Disallowed nickname patterns are stored in disallowednicknames.txt in the configuration directory. This file is matched against the nickname as it is entered by the customer. If a match occurs the letter which resulted in the match is not added to the nickname. This prevents offensive words from being used as nicknames. A sample disallowed nicknames file is provided. Please report additions you make to this file to MaxFlight Support so we can include them in future releases.
